Some of the symptoms could be bleeding gums, dry mouth or dental problems. And there are all types of problems that you could experience that would also be accompanied by bad breath.
If for instance, your teeth feel fuzzy, you could have a build up of plaque. And of course, when you have plaque bacteria are also at work. You could experience painful canker sores which make the slightest move uncomfortable. Not only are they caused by bacteria, they could also be the result of eating foods which are to acidic or having something else which causes the stomach to be upset. Stress is always a factor. If you put your fingers or another object into your mouth, you could see a rash known as thrush. It will not only be on the mouth and gums, but it can also be down the throat. It will cause the mouth to dry out but also bad breath.
Gum disease, with causes pockets of bacteria to form will also cause bad breath. Grinding your teeth which is often caused by stress, can cause the teeth to become tender and in some cases cause them to break, leading to tooth decay. And of course, any type of decay will cause bad breath. Be careful to brush your tongue when you brush your teeth as the tongue can also develop problems. Leukoplakia is a gray or white patch which can develop on the tongue or the inside of the cheek.
Anything which creates a problem within the mouth can and usually does cause bad breath. If you are aware of the underlying cause, you can often find a way to remedy the problem.
