Herbal Remedies for Bad Breath
When you are seeking remedies for bad breath, it can be very confusing to find a solution, which really works. Many products actually have ingredients, which can have counter effects, such as mouthwash containing alcohol, which can dry the mouth and promote odor causing bacteria. Or toothpaste containing sulfur compound that is a natural cause for odor.
Some people have found relief through herbal remedies. Mint and parsley have been recognized as a remedy for bad breath for thousands of years. Spearmint and peppermint will overwhelm the effects of onions and garlic within seconds. High in chlorophyll, chewing parsley alone or after it has been dipped in apple cider vinegar will provide immediate relief. And if you swallow the chewed leaves, they will sweeten the digestive system too.
Chewing alfalfa tablets can help to eliminate bad breath. You could chew cardamom, fennel Seeds or dill to help mask the odor of bad breath. Or you could chew the licorice flavored Anise Seed to kill the bacteria which caused bad breath.
Chlorophyll, either in the tablet or the liquid form can eliminate bad breath. Cloves, which are known to be a powerful antiseptic, can be used as a mouthwash to gargle daily. You simply add three whole cloves or one-quarter teaspoon of ground cloves to two cups of hot water and let it steep for twenty minutes. Strain the tea and use as a daily mouthwash.
Fennel can either be chewed or the contents of a fennel capsule can be mixed with baking soda and used as toothpaste. Chewing winter green as well basil, thyme or rosemary will help to make the breath fresher. A lemon wedge with salt or sugar will freshen garlic or onion breath.
Tea tree oil also contains antiseptic compounds. You can use toothpaste, which contains tea tree oil, add a few drops to your toothbrush or add it to your regular toothpaste. The oil, which is a strong disinfectant, has a vivid aroma. It not only kills the germs, it overwhelms bad breath.
P.S. This is the proven method I recommend to my friends and readers. Read testimonials from previous sufferers.
